About the Board of Directors
Seven candidates with the highest votes are elected and the elected board members choose among themselves to serve as the President and vice-presidents (two persons).
The call for the Board candidates is released three months before the General Assembly and the candidates must be physically present at the elections to make their candidature statements and participate at the elections.
The next General Assembly is scheduled for May 2019.

Zhou Zejiang, more fondly known as Dr ZZ in Asia, has served the organic movement in China, Asia and other parts of the world for 27 years. He is a pioneer of the Chinese organic movement, one of the 2 first organic inspectors in the country and a well-regarded organic expert.

Patrick has been involved with IFOAM for more than a decade, with him being a Board member of IFOAM Asia since June 2013 and was reelected as Board Vice President for the next 2 years.

Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Hossain is a Bangladeshi nationality, working as a Program Officer in the Agriculture Department of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), an inter-governmental organization based in Tokyo, Japan.

Representative for Global Organic Textile Standard JapanMiyoshi has been involved with IFOAM since she was a student. She worked for a certification body for organic food, helping farmers and facilities to get organic certification.

Indonesia Organic AllianceIndro has been involved in organic movement for more than 20 years. He founded an NGO which works with farmers and women in the rural areas to develop organic farming and local marketing in Bogor, Indonesia.
